I just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl 5 days ago. The day after delivery, I noticed these puss-filled blisters (yellow filled) in the folds of her skin. Mostly in her armpits, elbows, neck, and inside her legs. What is this? Is it normal? What can I do to take care of it?
I have an appt with the pediatrician this afternoon. I’m just trying to get some ideas beforehand.
sounds like some sort of rash or infection. i would consult a pediatrician immediately.
take her back to the hospital so they check her out
Instead of speculating about what it is and what it might be, take her to the doctor as soon as possible and get it checked out, dont take any chances based on our guesses.
It sounds as though it is probably related to the cheesy sort of stuff baby is covered with inside your tummy to protect her skin. It doesn’t really allow the skin to “breathe” as such and those parts of her body need to be washed and dried religiously every day. If the weather allows, I would put her on a blanket in the nude and let the air do it’s tricks! Think how acne seems to miraculously disappear when you’ve spent a lot of time in the sun. Obviously you’ll need to show a Dr but that’s my guess. Good luck!
When our son was a couple of weeks old he had like a pimple/blister in his armpit which turned out to be a swollen lymph node or blocked duct. Apparently they are quite common. Try not to stress out if it is one of these it is nothing you have done.
Interesting.. The day after delivery, which would be 4 days ago you say you noticed these puss filled blisters. Most people are still in the hospital the day after delivery?? Why did you not ask or point them out to the nurse or doctor before you left the hospital? Why did you wait 4 days after finding them to take her in to get them checked out?
My daughter just told me a story not even an hour ago about another baby that also had puss filled blisters. She was taken to the emergency room by her babysitter. The poor little girl was in a lot of pain and wouldn’t stop crying. She was admitted to the hospital for a week for treatment. It turns out that parents who use METH. give it to their child just by touching them. It transfers to the child through your skin. So if you use meth, than touch your child, your child is also using meth. The blisters are from the drug. Please get your child treatment right away. then get some treatment for yourself before you hurt your beautiful girl again. If It is not you who is using the drug, Someone who has a lot of contact with her is. Find out who and get help… Keep them away from the child.
The best idea would have been to take her to the doctor the day you found them instead of waiting so long. Don’t mean to be rude.
Just wondering why you have waited. She might be allergic to something she is coming into contact with. Allergies can cause all kinds of things. hope she is ok. Kids are the most wonderful gift we get.
