Seems a bit excessive doesn’t it?
lol 2 questions as answers right away. We’re off to a great start. I’m just curious. I could be wrong in thinking that it is too “big of guns” for strep throat; this is why I’m asking the question. I guess I don’t understand why one would need an antibiotic that penetrates the blood brain barrier for a throat infection.
what medication would you suggest?
do you have strep throat? or a history of it?
because any infection can pass the blood brain barrier….especially ones close to the brain.
but, the more realistic reason is simple: strep throat has been hard this year and wide spread.
Did you see the lab work? Do you know for sure what the organism was? This is a question to ask the person who prescribed the medication.
